Zenith Myth Releasing Debut October 25

Zenith Myth, out of L.A., is pushing the release of his self-titled debut record back a tad. I am not sure what the original release date WAS but it is now October 25. They call it “melodic rock.” It is good to have a melody.

You can listen and determine a genre below. The track, Ego Fader, has been provided for your perusal below. Mike Edwards is the man behind Zenith Myth. Apparently he left his “perfect life” in California to go make music in Upstate NY. Good for him. He later moved back to California.

Guests on the record include members of Tool, Hole, Broken Social Scene and many others. I won’t spoil the surprise.

I love how Zenith Myth is reminiscent of so many of my favorite acts — many of whom are listed above — but also is a truly unique record. Zenith Myth's seamless incorporation of heavy, almost psychedelic sounds with contemporary distortion makes for a great debut release.

I can’t wait for this record’s release. The fact that Zenith Myth’s single, Ego Fader, is so multi-faceted that it cannot quite be classified as a single genre only further connects it to the innovative classic rock legends that influence the song. I look forward to hearing more from this artist who is bold enough to break out of the one genre mold.
