The Mercy Beat Release Remix Of "Sweet"

Los Angeles' The Mercy Beat have a new remix single, Sweet, out for your perusal (you...you personally). The track is from the band's recently released, self-titled, debut. This Soto Voce remix is by Miguel De Vivo of Villains. I am unsure if Soto Voce is his remixing name or the name of the remix version (or both). I leave that to you.

The band includes Sam Endicott (ex frontman of The Bravery), Matty Bennett and Ian Smith.

Mark Lanegan Band Releasing "Phantom Radio," Check Out "Floor Of The Ocean" Now

Mark Lanegan Band is set to release Phantom Radio on October 21, 2014. You can pre-order the releaseHERE. You can also check out the track, Floor Of The Ocean, below. The curious thing about this release is the primary compositional tool--a phone app called Funk Box. He wrote drum parts via Funk Box and then added synths and guitars.

The prolific Lanegan is always interesting and usually great.

SomeKindaWonderful have a new video directed by Marc Klasfeld. Klasfield has directed videos for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z. The band released an eponymous LP on June 23, 2014. They are also heading out on tour with New Politics and Bad Suns. Dates are below.

Sun Culture, Indie Out Of Nashville, Working On New Music

Sun Culture (aka Chase Coy), released his debut LP in March. The indie-beach music comes out of...Nashville. Lots of surfers in Nashville. You see them wandering around with a dazed look on their faces, searching for the elusive wave.

Coy is originally from Indiana and his music is quite, "now." You can check out the song, Sea Salt, below. Keep an eye open for more from the project soon. Work has begun on a second release.

Cold Specks' Neuroplasticity is out now! A North American tour begins in October (dates below). Cold Specks, from Canada, has worked and played with a fascinating mix of other artists-- Michael Gira appears on the new record as well as Ambrose Akinmusire. Cold Specks appeared on both of these artists recent efforts so fair is fair.

Rise Against Touring In Support Of "The Black Market"

Rise Against are heading out on a North American tour to support their latest release, The Black Market. Dates are below and include a stop at Chicago, Denver and Toronto. They also play at Made in America Festival and Voodoo Festival.

The band also recently released the video for "I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore," a track about the violence currently afflicting the world. The group is still challenging its audience with provocative songs; there is no discernible mellowing here.

Touché Amoré and Radkey will open on headline shows.

The Architects are set to open for Agent Orange on a tour beginning in October, 2014.

The band is set to release the second part of their "multimedia platform" Border Wars on September 9, 2014. The release is made up of a story told via comic book and music.

Semi Precious Weapons Release New Song, "Brando"

Semi Precious Weapons have a new track, Brando, out now. The group has an LP coming later in the fall (no title yet). The band, based in Los Angeles, have spent time opening for the likes of Lady Gaga and Ke$ha as well as appearing at Lollapalooza and the Isle of Wight Festival.
