Attrition Releases Free Digital EP, "Narcissist," Plans World Tour

Attrition’s Narcissist, digital three track EP is out now free. You can get it via the band’s bandcamp page until March 31, 2013. The EP consists of the single from the album and two remixes—from Angst Pop (featuring Technomancer) and Vi Rez. A video is also in the works.

The Unraveller of Angels comes out in April on vinyl and in 2 different CD editions. The record features tons of guests including Mona Mur, Matt Howden, Ian Arkley, Jyri Glynn, Erica Unwoman and Tylean.

A tour is also in the offing. Confirmed dates are below. May 16 through the 21st will find the band in Canada, June 19 through 26 finds them in New Zealand, September will be West Coast USA dates, September 28 in Dresden, Germany, October 12 in Santiago, Chile and November in Poland.

The Leisure Society Releasing "Alone Aboard The Ark" April 16, 2013

The Leisure Society have a new record, Alone Aboard The Ark, coming April 16, 2013. The record was recorded at Ray Davies’ Konk Studios and is the follow up to the band’s 2011 effort, Into The Murky Water.

The band was sought out by Davies to work on his solo record but led to more. This new record is the first they recorded outside of the home studio environment.

Ajnabi's Ambient Pieces, "Nablus" And "Gaza" Available For Free Download

Ajnabi started as a means of Blake Luley dealing with anxiety. When he felt overwhelmed he would take his laptop and the closest instrument and record loops with the built in mic, adding layers.

From this therapeutic beginning Luley created Nablus and Gaza, two ambient meditations on Palestine. The former deals with time spent in Nablus in the summer of 2011 and it was recorded in a cultural center where Luley was teaching Palestinian children music.

The second track was taken after news broke of the war in Gaza in late 2012. Luley was paralyzed by the lives lost. He sampled Simon and Garfunkel’s America, in part to focus the piece through his American eyes.

Grandchildren Releasing New LP, Touring, Hear A Track Now

Grandchildren has a new record, Golden Age, coming out May 7, 2013. This is the band’s second release and they will be touring to support it. Dates are below.

The group began as a solo recording project of Aleks Martray.

Dawes Playing SXSW Shows And Indie Record Store Shows

Dawes are heading out on a tour of independent record stores across the USA—showing their appreciation for indie retailers and fans. The band will play songs off their upcoming release, Stories Don’t End, out April 9, 2013. Dates are below (including record store dates and SXSW shows).

The new record is produced by Jacquire King who has worked with (among others) Norah Jones, Kings of Leon and Tom Waits.

Son Volt Spring Tour To Support "Honky Tonk"

Son Volt release their latest, Honky Tonk, on March 5 (on Rounder) and are heading out on tour shortly after. In addition to the tour frontman Jay Farrar is publishing Falling Cars and Junkyard Dogs.

The dates below are not the only shows the band will play—they will be on the road all year.

Steafán Hanvey Touring North America To Support "Nuclear Family"

Steafán Hanvey, from Ireland, is out on a North American tour in support of his latest record, Nuclear Family, which comes out February 26, 2013 in North America. Dates are below. Nuclear Family was recorded in Paris, Helsinki and Dublin and was mixed by Tore Johansson who produced such acts as The Cardigans and Franz Ferdinand. It is as close as the singer-songwriter says he will ever get to a concept album.

Roger Knox's "Stranger In My Land" Out Now--Indigenous Australian Country/Western

Roger Knox’s Stranger In My Land is out now. We really should have written about this release before but we didn’t. Knox’s music is Indigenous Australian “country/western.” The songs on this record are all written by predecessors of Knox—the indigenous Australian artists of the past. Many of these songs are handed down folklore songs that have never been recorded previously.

Jon Langford of Mekons and Waco Brothers met Knox on a trip to Australia and the result is this record. Find out more or buy it HERE.
