Chicago-based, Tim Larson and The Owner Operators, have a new ep, A Done Deal, out. The best part about it is the music. The next best part about it is that it is free.

These include a new version of the title track from the band's fabulous 2011 release, A New Deal. There are also three band versions of songs from Larson's solo debut, No Weapons, No Allies.

Clubfeet Have New Video For "Fall From Here"

Clubfeet have a new music video for Fall From Here—and it is very artsy. This video is part of the ongoing Gold on Gold video project with Alex Goddard (a fellow Australian). I would describe it all for you but why? You can watch it yourself.

Nous Non Plus' Video And Download For The Song "J'en Ai Marre"

J'en Ai Marre (Had Enough) is a track from Nous Non Plus. The email about them said they were a faux-French band. Does this mean they are really from New Jersey? I don’t know

The band is actually a multinational group with members all over the place but they got together in Austin to record Freudian Slip.

The Nigernian singer/songwriter's new record, Soul is Heavy, features a mix of soul, African pop, hip hip, reggae and more. It also features guest appearances by Black Thoughts (The Roots) and Ms. Dynamite. Nneka tours heavily logging in 150 shows in support of her last record. She was also on the Letterman show.

The 2 Bears, Newly Signed To DFA Records, Have A New Video

The 2 Bears have their debut record, Be Strong, coming out on DFA Records on January 31 digitally. A physical release will follow in a few months. You, well you and everyone else, can see the video for their track, Work, below (or at Vimeo or Youtube).

The group is made up of Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and Raf Daddy.

The PR calls this a “London record through and through.” The full length follows an ep, released this past summer, entitled Bear Hug.

Rachel Platten Touring In 2012 With Andy Grammar

I have been asking for an interview with Rachel Platten for some time. They say yes and then my dog eats my homework. BUT Platten is now heading out on tour again, in January, with Andy Grammar as an opener.

Platten is also playing radio shows, most of which have concluded, but one that remains (that and the tour with Grammar is below). Platten has a song on the upper end of the Billboard chart. 1000 Ships is in the mid 20s on some charts. I do not know what all the charts mean anymore but being ON them is certainly better than NOT being on them.

If you haven’t heard of Platten yet, you likely will. Keep an ear out.

The Cure Video For "A Forest" Live At Bestival (Charity Benefit CD available)

The Cure: Bestival Live 2011 is a new record of live performances by the and that benefit the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. This is a charitable organization offering counseling, information and support to people under the age of 25 on the Isle of Wight, where Bestival is held. The Organization has been around for just shy of 30 years.

The video is from Bestival and the album is of 32 live tracks from The Cure’s career. All proceeds from the record go to the charity.

Mark Stewart Releasing New Full Length, "The Politics Of Envy" In March, Video Out Now

Mark Stewart has returned with a limited 7 inch of Children of the Revolution and a new record, The Politics of Envy comes out March 26, 2012 on Future Noise Music. The release will have a herd (or a slew if you prefer) of guests including; Kenneth Anger, Keith Levene, Richard Hell, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Gina Birch , Tessa Pollitt, Douglas Hart, Factory Floor, Daddy G and all of Primal Scream.

It is all very counterculture and I am sure not a cynical attempt to cash in on troubled times. This is Stewart’s eighth record. Check out the video for Nothing is Sacred below.

Anna Vogelzang Offers Fans Free Christmas Tracks, New CD Out In February

Anna Vogelzang offers not one, not two but three Christmas songs to help fans celebrate the season. She has been doing this since 2008 when she was living in Wisconsin and broke. So her gift was sending out (with help from Andrew Young) a six song ep with handmade packaging.

The tradition has continued but this year a few of the songs are available to fans. You can stream and download the songs at her Bandcamp page.

Vogelzang has a new record, Canary In A Coal Mine, coming out February 28, 2012.
