Empires Sign To Chop Shop/Island Records, Offer Free Download And Head Out On Tour

Empires, out of Chicago, have just signed with Chop Shop/Island Records. The band also released a free track, How Good Does It Feel, for your listening and downloading pleasure. The band is also set to begin an extensive tour. Check out dates and the song below.

The group's first LP comes out later this year and will be produced by John Congleton who has also worked with The Black Angels, Explosions in the Sky and St. Vincent.

Perfect Pussy Touring North America, Releasing Debut LP In Spring 2014

Perfect Pussy, out of Syracuse, are heading out on tour. The punk rockers are touring, hitting some festivals after garnering praise from all the various places you can actually still get praise for punk rock.

Their debut EP, I have lost all desire for feeling, was released on cassette only last year. They are now signed to Captured Tracks. Their debut LP will be released, on 8-track only in the spring. JUST Kidding. It won't be on 8-Track...it will be on 1/4 inch reel to reel (for some reason I feel I have to add that this, too, is kidding).

Self And Fat Possum Records Re-Releasing "Subliminal Plastic Motives" On Vinyl, Playing New York Show

Self and Fat Possum Records are set to reissue the band's 1995 self-released LP, Subliminal Plastic Motives on vinyl. The recording has never before been out on vinyl. The band is also reuniting for the first time in a decade at the Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan on January 10, 2014.

Matt Mahaffey, the founding and main member of the group was recently signed by Fat Possum. Since Self's heydey Mahaffey has made a name as a producer. He has wored with bands including; Parachute, HelloGoodbye, The Sounds and others.

Frameworks Small Victories EP Available As Free Download, Recording Debut LP

Frameworks, out of Gainesville FL, have signed with Top Shelf Records to release their debut LP in 2014. Their Small Victories EP is up as afree download at Bandcamp for the rest of this week. They also have a four way split release with Droughts, Prawn and Kittyhawk coming out November 25, 2013 on Fair Weather Records. The Frameworks track is Preamble. You can check out Preamble below. The band also appears at The Fest 12 on Halloween, 2013 (tomorrow)

Since I went to college in Gainesville I wish them luck in their career. I will give one piece of advice though; don't wear cargo shorts in your promo photo. Although in Gainesville I suppose we can just feel lucky he isn't wearing tight jorts.

De La Torre First Single, Video, Out, LP Coming Soon

De La Torre is the latest signing by noted "hit maker," Desmond Child. De La Torre hails from that hotbed of Latin music, Bowling Green, Ohio. He is finishing up his debut LP, Nosotros. His LP IS Latin music with the young singer and songwriter delving into his Cuban roots.

There are a lot of tons of high powered producers, musicians and writers working on the project. The first single, No Te Entiendo, is out now at most of the usual digital retailers.

Tensnake Signs To Astralwerks, Releases Single, Video

Tensnake (aka Marco Niemerski) is a German DJ, producer and label owner. He is also newly signed to Astralwerks. The project's first single for the label, 58 BPM B/W See Right Through (featuring Fiora) is out this week. Check out the video for the A-side below.

Tensnake produces dancefloor packing tracks that have an eclectic vibe. He is a sought after remixer and has worked with an impressive list of bands (including Aloe Blacc, Friendly Fires and Little Dragon).
