You can listen to it below. The LP comes out April 1, 2014. Lenis, from Bogota, uses synths and drum machines to make his music but his influences come from the punk rock that surrounded him as a kid. The music is electronic but a more gloomy version of the genre. The record is being released on vinyl and it was mastered specifically for the medium. ![]() To Kill A King, out of London, are set to release their debut LP, Cannibals With Cutlery, on April 22, 2014. You can check out the video for the track, Rays, below. The record is produced by the band and Jim Abbiss who has also worked with Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club and Adele. The band is also heading out on an extensive tour of North America--some dates opening for Bastille (who I understand are quite optimistic about the shows) and others for Frank Turner. Tour

The song apparently was on during the closing credits for HBO's Girls (which I don't watch...wrong demographic...nothing against the show). Check out the single below. Shows are coming too--including SXSW March 15 at Parish Underground and Thursday, March 13 at Bungalow. The band come from Okalahoma and will be releasing a new LP later in the year. I read a wee bit on them and saw some Richard Hell comparisons. Apt if not 100 percent spot on. This is, of course, a different time from the day of the Voidoids. ![]() The Wytches, out of Brighton in the U.K., have a video for their song, Gravedweller, for your perusal (yes "perusal" is my favorite word). You can also check out the song, Wire Frame Mattress, via Soundcloud below. The band has a psych rock meets garage rock surf rock sort of feel. It's gloomy and fun at the same time. The band has toured with bands such as Band of Skulls, The Black Angels and Chelsea Wolfe (among many others). They've released singles and an LP is coming. Tours around Europe and North American are in the offing as well. ![]() Want a free Japanther song? Of COURSE you do! You can grab the song, Do It (Don't Try), via Soundcloud below. The song is of the groups next LP, Instant Money Magic, out April 15, 2014. I will have to wait until the 16th to get it. I always do my taxes on the 15th. The band is out on tour right now. Find out more at www.japanther.com. ![]() Galantis are releasing their eponymous debut EP on April 1, 2014. No, this is not a joke. You can check out the track, You, below. It is available for sale now. The group will also be playing at Coachella in April. If you hit the dance clubs you may remember their track, Smile. You can get the remix package of that single at all the usual online music sellers. The duo that make up Galantis are Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow who co-wrote the Icona Pop song, I Love It. |
