_ The Lumineers, from Denver, are releasing their self-titled record on Dualtone on April 3, 2012. If you are into folk rock a la Mumford and Sons the band may be your cup of tea. The band also released a self-titled EP in 2011. The band is getting out on tour to support the release a little early—in March. If you live in a big city you may have a chance to check out the group. The band started out in NYC and, after the Big Apple took a bite out of them for awhile, they decided to pack up and head to Denver. They added some members and were off and playing. Tour

Autonomists are protesters who are, simply defined, extreme anarchists; they join no groups, the protest solo based on their own beliefs. I am sure someone will disagree with me on that. People into this stuff love niggling details. It is a protest song of sorts and the story of a man who died for what he believed in (even if this song doesn’t give you the story maybe it inspires you to find out more). The single comes out February 20, 2012, check out the video below. The video is directed by Douglas Hart (founding member of Jesus and Mary Chain). Stewart’s record, The Politics of Envy, comes out March 26, 2012. This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
_ The Black Belles are coming back to the USA in early February (dates below). The first date is in Indiana. They will do a few shows with Bleached and also some with Strange Boys. If you haven’t heard the band they get called “garage.” They sound a bit too melodic to be held to the sounds that genre demands. These tour dates are not the complete tour. More will be added. You can find out more about the band and check for new dates at the band website, theblackbelles.com. Tour

Toronto’s Bishop Morocco have just signed with Arts & Crafts (Feist, Broken Social Scene). Their new EP, Old Boys, comes out March 13. You can get the title track in exchange for your email address HERE. Bishop Morocco were a duo. Their first release was self titled and recorded at their home studio in the Netherlands. That release had a 80s new wave vibe—maybe a little more lo-fi than that applies. This time out the release is supposed to be “thicker and more contemplative. I note they were a duo; they added a guitarist and drummer for the new record. Shows will happen too. Keep your eyes peeled. _ DZ Deathrays are a duo from Australia (they dispense with bass and are guitarist and drummer only). They’ve played with a ton of acts in their native land including Foo Fighters. There are promises of exciting news which may well be a USA tour? Who knows, I have no idea. You can check out a track, No Sleep, at the band’s Soundcloud page. For more info on them head to their website, www.dzdeathrays.com. This is your new blog post. _ When I glanced at this release regarding Harriet I thought “Singer songwriter?” Nope, this is a new project from Alex Casnoff, a former member of Dawes. The group’s four song EP, Tell The Right Story comes out January 31, 2012. It will be available free at www.HarrietMusic.com. The band will have a release show in their hometown of Los Angeles, at Harvard & Stone on February 2, 2012. The release is inspired by films and storytelling and mixes anthems and romantic ballads. The musical style mixed Americana with electronics. The band is named, incidentally, after Casnoff’s grandma. Other live dates are coming and they are below. Tour
