The press release for Connecticut’s Twitch The Ripper notes that the band’s home state isn’t synonymous with synthpop. I have no idea what sort of music springs to mind when you here; “This band is from Connecticut.” I think of a bunch of Yankees talking about their stock portfolios and how great it is to be able to commute to New York or pretending they are really New England Patriots fans.
The band says being in an area with no formed musical identity helped with creativity. Sounds reasonable to us. Twitch The Ripper are self-releasing their debut, Bodiless, on February 1. An EP comes out January 11.
