The Mynabirds are heading out on tour in June—for a month. The tour will include a stop at the Pickathon Music festival. There will also be solo performances by Laura Burnhenn at City Winery in New York on May 20 and as part of The 78 Project as a benefit for the Music Maker Relief Foundation which supports American roots musicians over 55.

Burhenn is an activist as well as a musician. She is launching a portrait project called The New Revolutionists (more HERE). This is an attempt to shine a light on women, with little funding and little attention, making a real difference. As tens of millions pour into meaningless political ads?
