The Heavenly States? I thought those were Mississippi, South Carolina and Ohio…No, wait those are the HELLISH states. Anyway, The Heavenly States are a band from the Bay Area (San Francisco, not Tampa). Their new record of rock is a vaguely offbeat rock that you cannot really call “indie” or “punk”. It is sort of arty but not arty enough to make you want to punch someone or anything (I say this after hearing one song by the by).
Oui Camera Oui is the follow up to Delayer and you can listen to a track from the record, Model Son ,above.
And I like the name of their label, Hippies Are Dead, too.
These guys are good to retailers. They are offering Oui Camera Oui as a special preorder for Record Store Day on April 16. If you preorderm purchase the vinyl or spend more than $10 at a record store on Record Store Day you get a ticket to see the band that night in San Francisco at The Red Devil Lounge (obviously this is no good to you if you live in Des Moines).
