I wanted to stop posting stuff about Scandinavians. Then comes a release about Portuguese psych-pop band, The Gift. Their record, Explode, is out in their homeland and is #1. Not sure what that means in sales but still. They recorded the video for My Sun, below, in Lisbon’s Tivoli Theatre.
This isn’t a brand new band. The started in 1994 and toured the USA with Flaming Lips in 2003. They are coming back to the USA this year to support Explode. The record was produced by Ken Nelson who has also worked with Coldplay, Gomez and Paolo Nutini. Explode comes out in the USA sometime this summer.
