The Explorers Club, from Charleston, South Carilina, are releasing their second record, Grand Hotel, on February 14, 2012. There better be some romantic tracks on there.
The record was mixed by Mark Linett who is known for mixing The Beach Boys' SMiLe; the oft-bootlegged unreleased follow up to Pet Sounds (which was resurrected in 2004).
The choice of Linett tells you a little about the band’s sound. They have a liking for Herb Alpert and Burt Bacharach. You may recall the three free ep releases from the band at the end of 2011. The band are currently on tour.
