The Chapin Sisters, based in Los Angeles, just got off tour singing back up for She & Him (opening for them as well). Following this they headlined some shows and opened for Rooney. Louise Stephens from the band produces the duo’s latest record, Two.
Lily and Abigail Chapin are now heading out on tour with their haunting, almost Appalachian meolodies. Dates are below.
Stephens and Jesse Lee of Gang Gang Dance co-produced the record, adding new elements to the tried and true acoustic guitar and harmonies the sisters were known for. I have always heard that siblings have something that no relatives cannot reproduce when they sing harmony together, some sort of synchronicity. Not sure if that is true but I see no reason why it couldn’t be, blood being thicker than water and all that.
