Sting has a new record, The Last Ship, set for release September 24, 2013 (the day before internationally so if you really want it? Fly to Europe!).
The music is inspired by Sting's play of the same name. It is all about self-discovery and homecoming. The play will debut on Broadway next year. The play specifically is about the collapse of the shipbuilding industry n Newcastle--something areas in the Mid Atlantic States here will find familiar. It sounds like more serious and moving subject matter than the recent "recycle a band's music into a bad play" trend
You can get the release digitally or as 12 song version and a two disc version (20 songs). The 12 song version wil be available on vinyl.
