Sly & The Family Stone are getting the box-set treatment. Higher!, a four CD box set, comes out August 27, 2013 on Epic/Legacy.
The set is coming out in celebration of Sly Stone’s 70th birthday and is the first career-long anthology of the man and the band. It comes with a 100+ page booklet and 77 songs ( 17 of which have never been previously released. There are also all sorts of other extras in the set.
This is a history lesson as well as a great collection of music.
