Indie-folk outfit, Radical Face, are set to release their second record in October. It isn’t clear if the “indie” refers to their being on an independent label or if they mix folk with indie rock…at least not to me. But it all sounds very very folky.
See Ben Cooper basically IS the band and he recorded The Family Tree; The Roots in a tool shed in Jacksonville, Florida using instruments from the 1800s (types of instruments, presumably not actually all 100 + year old). He didn’t do this because he is insane. He may well be but in this case there was a reason for the “madness.” The record is about a family from the era and he wanted to keep the vision pure apparently.
Cooper is also playing some shows, which he rarely does. The dates are below
