Oh Land is from Denmark. Oh Land is also one person, Nanna Øland Fabricius. The self-titled debut ep from the “band” comes out in October on Epic with a full length to follow in 2011. A couple of tracks are above for your perusal.
Fabricus uses a homemade music box to “translate” sounds. Apparently there is a balloon on top of this thing for video projections. NOW, I have no idea if videos are projected ONTO the balloon or out OF the balloon. You can find out yourself if you live in NYC as she plays in Brooklyn Friday (dates below). The Brooklyn date is with Unicycle Loves You and Frances. The remaining dates are with Mates of State.
