Adrian Quesada of Grammy winner, Grupo Fantasma, has another project, Ocote Soul Sounds. Quesada is joinged by Martin Perna of Antibalas. If you haven’t heard Antibalas you really need to go listen.
But this is about the latest from Ocote Soul Sounds, Taurus. Tauras comes out June 7. The music is a psychedelic, funk, Afro-Cuban sound. And this is the first time the band has brought in an outside producer. And, they are not fooling around, that outside producer is Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation. Throw that into the style mentioned above and you are getting into “must listen” territory.
The record was recorded in Austin, TX and Washington D.C. and all were written by Perna and Quesada.
