Chicago’s Naked Raygun are heading into the studio (Transient Sound Studios to be specific) this March to work on a series of 7 inch records. The first of these new records comes out June 15. For those of you not yet hip enough to have gone back to vinyl there will also be digital availability. I want to get a record player again but I am not sure how I would connect it to my iPod.
A video is also in the office as is an American and European summer tour.
One of the most influential bands from the late 80s Chicago punk scene Naked Raygun called it quits in 1992—reforming only briefly in 1997. In 2006 they reunited for Riotfest in Chicago. The fan response was so great they reformed permanently with a line-up that includes Eric Spicer, Bill Stephens on guitar, Pierre Kezdy on bass and Jeff Pezzati on vocals.
The band is on Riot Fest Records and have released a DVD, What Poor Gods We Do Make ( part documentary and part live performance).
The first new songs from the band in seventeen years were played recently at Chicago’s House of Blues. Find out more at the Naked Raygun website.
