The group, solo project or whatever you might call it is the brainchild of Jordan Lee. Lee moves around a great deal--from Ohio to Texas to Massachussetts and New York. He runs the Kassette Klub label. Mutual Benefit is sometimes a collective sometimes a one man band. His first two releases were limited cassettes. Love's Crushing Diamond is the wide-release debut and features homemade percussion, violin, banjo, guitar and the occassional "found sound."
Initially this was to be a cassette only release but friends decided to release a limited LP--THEN the release took off on Bandcamp and garnered interest from Other Music Recording Company. The first pressing of the LP and CD come with a free download of the group's Cowboy's Prayer EP.
