Matmos has a new single, Very Large Green Triangles, off their upcoming The Ganzfeld EP. The EP comes out October 16. A full length, The Marriage of True Minds, is due in early 2012. The electronic duo’s releases coincides with both the band’s 20th anniversary and Thrill Jockey’s 20th as a label. Two Anniversary shows are scheduled, dates are below.
The concept behind both EP and LP is the same—telepathy. The band have apparently been conducting parapsychological experiments based on the Ganzfeld experiment. The transcripts from the experiments became almost a score for the new recordings.
There will be a limited edition of the EP individually deigned in a numbered box—in conjunction with Incase the box will include Incase headphones and a pair of opaque goggles.
