Little Barrie are coming to the USA to support their surf-ish (cause really…UK surfers?) rock n roll music release, King of the Waves. It is fun stuff and it comes out in the USA on February 28, 2012. It is their third record and the tour is with Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires.
The group has been polishing their pedigree by playing live with Primal Scream and collaborating with Mark Ronson and Morrissey.
When I hear Little Barrie ( I got an advance a while back), I think it is a little rougher than what I’d call surf but the production is maybe more polished. That may not sound like it makes sense but it does. Trust me. Listen to them. I, for one, am curious to see them live.
The record was co-produced by Edwyn Collins (along with Little Barrie) which ought to make music fans a tad curious (for those of uswho remember Orange Juice anyway).
