Rekords Rekords, the brainchild of Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures, is a label that is about the music; it is not about the pr, the marketing or any of that necessary but certainly not artistic stuff.
To that end Rekords Rekords have entered a partnership with Dangerbird Records to handle the marketing, promotion and distribution of their artists. This means that Homme and his artists are able to simply focus on the art of it all. Ask anyone at a small to medium sized, artist-owned label and they will bemoan how much time is spent on press, distribution, marketing and all that.
The first release under this new partnership will be Alain Johannes debut (solo obviously), Spark. The release will be out August 31.
Also in the offing on Rekords Rekords will be releases from Eagles of Death Metal, more from other members of Queens of the Stone Age such as Mini Mansions from bassist Mikey “Shoes” Shuman.
