James Yuill, based in London, is releasing his second album, Movement in Storm on February 22.This record follows up Turning Down Water For Air. Yuill begins with an acoustic guitar when writing songs but he adds electronic elements to create what could be referred to as “folktronica”—a term he justifiably disdains. There really is no need to label, just give a listen.
Yuill started recording at home and releasing his own music. He has tourned the UK, Europe and Japan and even played shows in South America and Indonesia (opening for Hot Chip and Temper Trap). He will be performing at SXSW.
