IAMX’s last record, Kingdom of Welcome Addiction, was pretty brilliant. I heard it in passing when a friend was playing it. You hear the word “haunting” used to describe music with some frequency. Usually that is bullshit. But that record not only is haunting but shows how largely electronic music need not be antiseptic, need not be soulless (for those who didn’t figure that out 30 years ago).
But anyway, IAMX has a new single/EP, Volatile Times, coming out September 23. This is the third single from the studio album of the same title. The EP will have the album version and remixes by notable such as Clayton Worbeck, Nobless Oblige, Glen and also by Chris Corner himself (under the moniker Unfall).
Check out the video below. The band will head to the West Coast of the USA in the Winter (there are dates in Europe, here and there, soon). They will be playing laid back acoustic shows and may hit the East Coast as well.
