Girl Talk had a big-ass party at the Congress Theater in Chicago this past year. If you missed itnow you can at least pretend you were there. Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) built a HOUSE on the stage. Building this thing took over four days and 21 workers to build. This place sounds like it is better built than were I LIVE when you get the details…drywall, real staircases, fake TREES outside.
Insane (but in a good way) There is no date for the DVD release. Huh? Why ANNOUNCE it then? Ok..yeah, why build a HOUSE on your stage?
Girl Talk did 240 shows following the release of the last CD, Feed The Animals, but have been taking a break in summer 2010. This “break” is to work on a new record that will come out in 2011 (the “break” actually sounds an awful lot like WORK to me).
There are some upcoming shows—Friday, October 29 at Moogfest in Asheville, NC and Saturday, November 20 at Planeta Terra Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. If anyone wants to spring for tickets I would be happy to check out this second fest.
