So far the artists for the Governors Ball Music Festival include Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Empire of the Sun, Big Boi, Neon Indian, People Under the Stars, Miami Horror, Passion Pit DJ Set, Mac Miller, Outasight with many more to be announced. Tickets go on sale February 24 at 10 a.m. It looks like they go on sale HERE, rather than through Ticketmaster so there is a good chance scalpers won’t have them all in the first five minutes they are available.
There will be two stages at the fest but the sets will not overlap, so you won’t have to make any Solomonic choices about which band to take in. As you can tell from the list of bands above the bands selected to play are pretty diverse but all high energy. A big multi-genre dance party is what I suspect is going to break out. You will get a free ferry ride to and from the Island (via Pier 11 at the corner of South and Wall Streets).
