Vinyl fanatics take note. In honor of "Record Store Day" (I was unaware there still WERE record stores let alone a DAY dedicated to them. I knew there was still a groundhog day however...but I digress) Knitting Factory Records is releasing a limited edition 10 inch vinyl ep from Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti.
I think Fela was the one who coined the term Afrobeat but I would need to do a google search to be sure. You do it. Be sure to let me know.
ANYWAY, back to the vinyl. This release is music from the legendary '69 Live sessions. It is probably this music that gave birth to Afrobeat. The record is 33 rpm, 140 gram vinyl and is a limited edition.
Release date is April 17.
