Amanda Palmer, front-woman of the Dresden Dolls cheerfully announced her release from Roadrunner Records. Apparently big label-ness disagrees with her—and no wonder, most legal battles sour people on those they must battle. Ask anyone who has ever been divorced.
In celebration, Palmer recorded a series of covers of various Radiohead songs with engineer Mick Wordley in Austalia…on ukulele. SO if you have been dying to hear Idioteque on a uke, now is your chance. This all began when she learned how to play Creep as a sort of joke.

There was explanation of how to pay and why and how this was educational but I am too tired (and frankly disinterested) to get into that. I trust you can all figure it out. The press release says that Palmer has been a big supporter of direct artist to fan releases (which is awesome…unless no one knows who you are). NONETHELESS, this sounds like a fun project and gives you an opportunity to tweak your indie nose at big labels at the same time.
