Brooklyn-based Deluka are releasing their first full-length CD in October (or as I prefer to call it, Rocktober). You will be able to get it digitally on September 14 (or as I prefer to call it Rocktember 14). The band is actually from Birmingham. And whenever I hear “Birmingham” I think “Alabama” which, in this case, is off by about 4000 miles.
Have to tell you, I can never tell what the hell most of the bands I am not really familiar with ACTUALLY sound like from press releases but in this case there is a live track for download (see above). Check out Nevada HERE.
It is sort of rock meets dance electronic…heavily produced (see, this is why I don’t do reviews). Go give a listen. For those in NYC the band is playing at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21at Piano’s (158 Ludlow at Stanton).
