Magic In The Blues
Dave Stewart, most well known as co-founder of Eurythmics, has also had quite the career as a producer, artists and director. He is set to add to his musical repertoire with The Blackbird Diaries coming out June 28 on Razor & Tie. The record was recorded in Nashville and has new material that includes a song written with Bob Dylan, tracks singing with Stevie Nicks (Steward co-produced her latest record), Martina McBride and Colbie Caillat. It also features a slew of fabulous musicians.
The PR says this is a departure for Stewart from both work with the Eurythmics and solo. You can listen to a track above and decide for yourself. The song writing is certainly different.
Razor & Tie is a label that seems to aim for quality and doesn’t stick to a specific genre. Sure they have some artists I find to be painful but usually they pick and choose people with unique and varied talents. Stewart may be the cream of the crop.
