Danielle Duvel, from Montreal, is about to release her first record, Of the Valley. She is putting it out herself (and we always applaud this). It comes out October 11, 2011.
The record has a pedigree—produced by Carlin Nicholson and Mike O’Brien, noth from Canada’s Arts & Crafts label (Feist, Broken Social Scene). The record, from what I have heard, is rock in roll of the old school variety. I sense a little Heart in this somewhere? Or am I nuts? Duval will be touring Canada (with Royal Wood), Check out her track , Sundowner, which is a duet with Broken Social Scene’s Jason Collett below.
