Bill Frisell and Vinicius Cantuária have a new record, Lagrimas Mexicanas, which is a unique combination of two world-class musicians. The CD comes out on January 25, 2011 on Entertainment One Music.
Frisell, an American guitarist, know for an improv style and Brazilian Cantuária make a music that mixes bossa nova with Frisell’s stylings. Cantuária is a singer, guitarist and percussionist. The two have played together for well over two decades but this is the first full-on collaborative effort. Lagrimas Mexicanas mixes traditional Latin music with improvisational jazz. Lyrics mix Spanish, Portuguese and English.
