Bunhill Fields
Amor de Dias is a new band made up of Alasdair MacLean (The Clientele) and Lupe Núñez-Fernández (Pipas). Their first record, Street of the Love of Days, comes out May 17 after three years of work. A track from the band, Bunhill Fields, is above for your listening pleasure. It is a lovely song and hopefully a precursor of more loveliness to come.
The record’s name comes from something near to my heart, mistranslating Spanish. In my case I was on the phone telling my son’s abuela to pay the tow truck operator. When I hung up a friend asked ;“What were you trying to say? Cause you were telling her to punch the guy.” ANYWAY, MacLean apparently mistranslated a Madrid street sign as “Street of the Love of Days.”
