Bombay Bicycle Club have a new record coming February 4, 2013. You can check out the first single, Carry Me, below. You can also buy it HERE. The band, out of North London, has released four LPs in five years. Trying to nail them down to a genre is fairly pointless. Their first LP came out in 2008. The beat out bands such as The XX and Mumford & Sons for NME's New Band award that same year. Mélissa Laveaux Mixes Folk, Indie Pop And Blues With Creole Lyrics, Check Out Stream Of "Triggers"11/6/2013 Mélissa Laveaux mixes folk and indie pop with her blues guitar playing mixed with music often sung in Creole (she is Canadian-Haitian). Another song, Pie Bwa, is an adaptation of the Billy Holiday song, Strange Fruit. It is probably one of the most powerful popular songs ever written. I personally cannot wait to hear this. In the meantime check out the song, Triggers, below. Both are off her LP, Memory Is A Strange Bell, which comes out December 3, 2013. Quilt's second release, Held in Splendor, comes out January 28, 2014. The Boston-based band has a new video for their track, Arctic Shark. As you will notice there are also tour dates below. The group is heading out on the road with Happy Jawbone Family Band. Tour

The track will be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming film, Dallas Buyers Club. The lyric video was released by the movie company, Focus Features. It includes notable drag queens William Belli and Porsha Hayy. The soundtrack is out now and the movie comes out this week in the United States. Victory has a new video for his track, Soothing Me So. You can also download the track free below. The music is described as "sun bleached rock n roll" which makes me thing of surfing but I don't think this music is so much about that is it is other musical styles of the 50s and 60s (Doo Wop anyone?). Victory's full length debut, Victory Is Music, came out earlier in 2013. Julia Weldon has a new video for her track, You Never Know, off her second LP, Light Is A Ghost. You can check it out below. The LP is a mix of blues, folk, rock and is part of the sonic world that encompases acts like Iron and Wine, Bon Iver and others. Find out more about the artist HERE. Little Racer, of Brooklyn, did a 7 inch with Young and Lost Records a couple o years ago. Now the band have returned with a new EP. I do not know the name of the EP but the song, Vanessa, from it is out and you can download it free via Soundcloud. The band is also playing in NYC November 22 at Cake Shop. They list influences such as New Order and Cat Stevens. How can you not want to hear THAT justaposition? Broken Bells new single, Holding On For Life, can be streamed HERE. The music project is a partnership between Brian Burton of Danger Mouse and Jim Mercer of The Shins. Their second LP, After the Disco, comes out January 14, 2013 on Columbia Records. The band is also appearing on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson this evening (November 1, 2013) The band is just off (maybe still on?) a tour with Atlas Genius.
