Nothing really to say beyond that I guess...
Check out the video for Judith Hill's track, Desperation, below. The song is featured on the soundtrack for the film, 20 Feet From Stardom, directed by Morgan Neville. Nothing really to say beyond that I guess...

J. Roddy Walston & The Business Release Single, New LP September 10, 2013, Touring In Support8/26/2013 J. Roddy Walston & The Business fall somewhere between punk rock and...for lack of a better term "modern southern rock." I don't want you to think "Skynnrd" here. Neither of these genres are really spot on descriptions. The band have a new LP, Essential Tremors, coming on September 10, 2013. You can check out the track, Black Light, below and decide what they sound like for yourself. The band is also heading out on a fairly extensive tour. Dates are below. Tour

She is a songwriter but also is known for her unique re-imaginings of other artist's work (ranging from Prince to Dolly Parton). Her upcoming record, The Forester, is the first on her own label, SusanaSonata. It is a co-production with Ensemble NeoN. The work is haunting, sparse (as evidenced by the track, Oh, I Am Stuck, below). She is a unique and beautiful artist. European tour dates are below. Tour

The release will be available for free download via the band’s Facebook page. The free EP is a sort of thank you from band-leader, Ariel Aparicio, to fans of his past projects (mostly under his own name_. He also says the idea is to reach as many people as possible saying that putting music up free is “the wave of the future.” It is actually the wave of NOW and is the reason most bands have day jobs. You can check out a track off the EP below. The band takes its name from an art show Aparicio saw in Chicago about Brigitte Bardot. For more information head to www.BARDOTtheband.com. Sunwolf, out of Washington D.C., have a new single, Push It. You can check it out below. The band has an EP, Angel Eyes, in the works. It comes out October 8, 2013 on El Rey Records. Jerry Busher of Fuzgazi is producing the release. Think garage music, a "genre" that always had connotations I liked. The term implies no "movement" or any of that (such things are always a fraud). It is rock music with a rough edge and something of a disdain for polish. This track here seems to fit that bill nicely. The Dismemberment Plan have just released the second single off their upcoming LP, Uncanny Valley (out 10/15/13). You can check out the track, Invisible, below. This is not a particularly prolific band--having released only four LPs in 20 years. They were on a sort of hiatus until about three years ago. The band is touring to support the new record. Check out the dates below. Tour

Heart Of Nowhere comes out September 24 on Caroline Records and is the band's fourth full length. As you may notice from the dates below the band is also touring in support of the new record. A few years ago the band played at Lollapalooza and they were really a suprise. I liked their Lp, Last Night On Earth, but they were even better than that live. They reminded me, oddly, of Echo and the Bunnymen live. Go see them, let us know what you think. Tour
