Check out the single below. The band lists a "hodgepodge of influences for this release including Eno, Pixar movies, Enya, Mike Oldfield....and Crash Bandicoot.
OK...So that sounds eclectic enough to give a listen.

This new LP was released as a limited 10 inch record on Record Store Day but July 22 will see it out in multiple formats. It isn't an exaggeration to say everything this band puts out is outstanding. Jail Weddings are set to head out on tour. Dates, you will be unsurprised to read, are below. The band's second record, Meltdown, is out. Check it out via the Jail Weddings Bandcamp page. The tunes are a mix of psyche and punk (I am writing that a lot these days...a new trend maybe?) You can aso check out the video for the song, Summer Fades, below. Calling it "punk meets psyche" maybe short changes the sound--it is more melodic than that implies. You can pre-order the EP at the Buzz Records Bandcamp page. Betty Black has a video out for her track, Come Back Lover. The song is the irst single off her soon to be released LP, Valley Low. There is also a new remix o the track y Deantoni Parks (Black's former bandmate in Kudu). Betty Black is the creation of Sylvia Black (aka Sylvia Gordon...how many NAMES does this woman have!). But I suppose she is a writer, producer, musician, vocalist etc. who has worked with artists ranging from Moby to Black Eyed Peas. Maybe she deserves a bunch of names. Tim Larson is set to play a couple upcoming shows. Vargar, his third LP is out now. You can check the record out via Bandcamp below. Two shows are happening soon--one in Chicago and the other in Los Angeles. Larson is poised to begin work on a new recording after the Chicago show, which will be the final bow of many of the Vargar tunes (for the time being at least). Shows Tuesday, June 17 at Martyrs (with Jail Weddings from Los Angeles). Show begins at 9 p.m. Larson goes on at 10 p.m. Friday, August 29 at Kibitz Room (with Elle Belle and Big Harp). 10 p.m. |
