Anova Music, an indie label out of Tel Aviv, represents a number of top Israeli independent artists both at home and abroad. The label is also a recording studio and has publishing and marketing divisions.
Their descent upon America will focus on three acts: Izabo, Eatlitz and Electra.
Izabo’s debut record, of psychedelic rock, The Fun Makers came out in 2003. They are well known for a video, from last year, for the track, On My Way (above). They have played CMJ and have plans to play in the USA in 2011.
Eatlitz began nine years ago. They call their music “complicated pop” apparently. I am not sure what that means. But you can hear a track above and decide for yourself. They also have a number of top notch animated videos out there I trust you can search out. One of these, the video for Hey, won the Spike Lee Award at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival.
The third act from Anova is Electra. Do they sound like the Rolling Stones to you? Maybe…but this sounds new to me, rather than something senior citizens listen to. The band released their first EP in 2004 and signed to Anova last year.
