Sure, the show is over (last night) and there are certain inherent problems with that little audio mic on a Flip camera (especially when the music is loud) but you will still get the idea from this new recording of a new song by Tim Larson & The Owner Operators.

Baby, Please Don't Die In Texas was inspired by a phone call from singer Carrie Lilligan's husband as the band headed down to Austin for SXSW in 2011.

Have a listen to the tune. Encourage the release of a single.

Henry Clay People are about the pull the cork on a big tour. The band, out of L.A. are also about to release a new record, Twenty-five for the Rest of Our Lives.  I tried that. It ends badly. The record comes out on June 26, 2012. That is, curiously, the day after my 25th birthday!

The band will not be on tour alone but will share the stage with some other super duper acts (check the tour dates below). Some of the shows are, of course, headlining gigs.

You can check out and download the album’s title track below. For more on the band head to henryclaypeople.com.

Legendary ambient musician and producer, Robert Rich, is heading out on a tour this June. Rich creates soundscapes--and his style varies far and wide within the genre.

Of particular note are the interesting venues Rich will be performing at on this tour.

As a chronic insomniac I am fond of not only telling people I am a chronic insomniac but that Rich's wonderful double record, Trances/Drones, actually put me to sleep. That is not an insult. It was what it was supposed to do.

Silver Jews have a new record, Early Times, coming on Drag City Records June 19, 2012. You can listen to the track, Secret Knowledge of Back Roads, below. The music is a amalgamation of tracks off a 7 inch EP (Dime Map of the Reef) and a 12 inch EP (The Arizona Record).

These recordings come from an earlier DIY period in the band’s existence. This was apparently right out of college and without all that knowledge and experience to get in the way. Lo-fi perhaps? But that might conjure inaccurate aural images.

More on Silver Jews HERE.

And you can pre-order HERE.

The Chevin are named after the hill that overlooks their hometown of Otley. The band, based in Yorkshire, have a new video for their track, Drive. The video was directed by Tyler Oliver who also directed the video for The Bravery’s Unconditional.

The band’s music has its basis in the landscapes of their homeland—moorlands as far as the eye can see. The band has an EP out now (November EP). Their debut full-length comes out later this year.
