River City Tanlines latest record, Coast To Coast, comes out July 31, 2012. Think guitar rock, garage rock and a dash of boogie and you will be spot on. Alicja Trout, the band’s singer, runs Contaminated Records, a recording studio and a number of other bands (Alicja-pop, MouseRocket, Black Sunday). It is close to shocking she has time to eat let alone release a River City Tanlines record. It is the first from the group in six years. The track is off the upcoming record, Generals. YES, we did write about The Mynabirds recently but this is a NEW song. They are certainly worth two mentions. This is a concept record and a protest record. Laura Burhenn’s political angst over the past decade are the inspiration for the record. Fawn, from Detroit, have a new video for their track, No Wave, and you can see it below. The band’s record, Coastlines, comes out June 12, 2012. We have talked about Fawn before too, just like The Mynabirds, but they are ALSO worth a second mention. The Toadies have announced the line up for the annual Dia Des Los Toadies (August 31-September 1 in Whitewater, Texas) and a co-headliner outing with Helmet.
