Outside Lands Festival not only takes the music seriously. They take the food seriously. The festival is in its sixth year and is billed as the "world's only gourmet music festival." They also look to have many of the bands playing Lollapalooza BUT, as always, they also have some interesting acts not playing in Chicago. The festival takes place at Golden Gate Park August 9 through 11, 2013. Tickets go on sale at noon (PDT) at www.sfoutsidelands.com. Wonder if the scalpers buy them all up like they did for Lollapalooza? You could probably get a plane ticket and Outside Lands tickets for what you'd pay a scummy scalper here in Chicago (all scalpers, even if they call themselves brokers are scum). A good chunk of the money goes to benefit San Francisco's Recreation and Park Department. $6 million has been raised for the department in the festival's first five years. The festival has over 200 menue items, 30 California craft brews and, of course, wines.
