Summer Camp? I mean summer is OVER. Ok. Not that kind of summer camp. This is Summer Camp, a UK duo who are about to release their first full length effort, Welcome To Condale. The record doesn’t come out until November 8 on Apricot Records (the band’s own imprint..we love bands who do that). They have made available their track, I Want You, for download. You can hear it below or go download HERE. On September 13 they will digitally release another track, Better Off Without You. The band raised the money for the recording via a website, pledgemusic.com. You can head to the specific Summer Camp page HERE. You can help the band fund the record and they give you all sorts of stuff. Usually I do not post this sort of fundraising stuff…but I am in a mood.
Teeth, who we write about recently have a new single, Flowers, and a new video for their first single, Care Bear. Both are on the London-based electronic punk rockers’ soon to be released (Sept 20) debut, Whatever. The band is Ximon Takyi, who does the composing, Veronica So, who does the singing and Simon Whybray who does the drumming. Check out the video for Flowers HERE

Dark Dark Dark are heading out on tour in September with A Hawk and A Hacksaw and Pillars and Tongues. The band is supporting their latest, Wild Go.
They also did a live soundtrack for the Fritz Lang film, Spies, at the Walker Art Center’s Music & Movies series in Minneapolis. This is pretty neat really. Especially since they were not asked to score Metropolis, which gets entirely too much attention at the expense of Lang’s other films.
After this gigantic tour the band will start working on a follow up to Wild Go.

Brooke White and Jack Matranga have a free track for you. And I mean YOU, specifically. They totally think you are awesome. The song is an acoustic version of the title track to their new record, Gemini. You can also get it by going to their website, jackandwhite.com. Another track, Double Trouble, is also the iTunes single of the week. The ep comes out August 30 but you can get it (only at iTunes) now.
Rise Against is featured on the new google music site (a beta site called Magnifier). It is like AOL Spinner but later and more cumbersome to use. You can, however, download the new Rise Against single, Make it Stop (September’s Children) for free for a week. Go HERE request an invitation. Google are big on invitations. They want all that juicy info on you. It is to be hoped this is less useless than Google + After you get your invite you can download the song, and future songs. Sound clunky and unusable? Of COURSE it is. It’s Google! But you do get this song, and future ones free. For more on Rise Against head to the band website www.riseagainst.com .
Matisyahu, that purveyor of Judaic Reggae, will be at Uncle Sams, 1141 Washington Ave., Miami Beach at 4 p.m. (they flyer does say 3)Wednesday, August 24 to do a live acoustic appearance.
