The Joy Formidable released an EP, A Balloon Called Morning, in 2010 (in the USA anyway). The EP was released on Ayad Al Adhamy of Passion Pit's label, Black Bell Records. They followed that, in March of 2011 with full-length, The Big Roar. Their latest , Wolf's Law, came out at the beginning of 2013.

And this is not a band that puts on a dull show. In fact they played the night after Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Chicago and did not, at all, pale in comparison. The Joy Formidable are a band to see live, they have written some of the most intriguing rock music out in recent years--music that will stand the test of time.
If you can write a song as good as Whirring? You can hang up your guitar and go home. You've done enough right there. Mercifully The Joy Formidable did not stop there. There is real joy in this music, recorded or live. If you don't feel happy to be alive after seeing them. You may be dead.
