One of the things that makes Guards fun to watch is that they seem to actually like what they are doing--giving off the vibe that even if they were playing in dive bar in Newark they would be performing just the same.
Their music is a sort of vaguely hard-edged pop rock...well, sometimes it is. Other times it turns right into a crazy psychedelic freak out. One of the things that make Guards so appealing is that they do this seemlessly. Maybe this is because their indie rock-ish songs have more than a dash of psychedelic freak out in them?
