Styx and Yes are touring together under the moniker “Progressive U.S. Tour.” The tour is 22 dates long and should appeal to those settling into late middle age and youngsters with 70s and 80s nostalgia. The whole shebang begins on the Fourth of July.
In case you are wondering who is IN the current line-ups of these bands they are as follows;
Styx-Tommy Shaw (vocals, guitars), James “JY” Young (vocals, guitars), Lawrence Gowan (vocals, keyboards), Todd Sucherman (drums) and Ricky Phillips (bass). Original bassist Chuck Panozzo will sit in on some shows too.
Yes includes Steve Howe (guitar), Chris Squire (bass),, Alan White (drums) with Benoit David singing. Geoff Downes will also apparently be playing keyboards (they are reuniting, not sure if that means for the entire tour).
Yes are supporting a new record, Fly From Here, that comes out July 12 and Styx are finishing a record, Regeneration. Volume 2 (which follows Volume 1).
