VHS or Beta have a dub version of their 2011 release, Diamonds & Death, coming on May 8. Diamonds & Dub is a reimagining by producer/DJ, Jacques Renault and remixer/engineer, Mark Verbos. These two have worked with a who’s who of electronic and dance acts including; Holy Ghost, YACHT, Midnight Magic, Fischerspooner, The Gossip and Gang of Four.
I miss the old days when reggae artists used to, almost inevitably, release a dub version of their recordings. Sometimes the dub versions were better, sometimes not. But they were always worth a listen, especially for DJs.
