The Black Angels Tour In Fall Tickets On Sale August 5

The Black Angels are heading out on tour. That is good news, fantastic news (although I always seem to miss them for one reason or another). This is one of the “count them on one hand” best rock bands out there right now. No shit.  I keep saying they are what The Doors would have been if they didn’t suck. A lot of people tag them with a “60s psychedelic revival” tag but they bring a lot more to the table than that. I always think of dark, underground rock from the 80s—like The Gun Club (but with vastly superior musicianship). This music is more than a trip down memory lane—but the reason you see that so often is many critics have no other reference point.

The band’s latest record, Phosgene Dream,is out and the tour begins in October in Houston and finishes up in Nashville. Tickets go on say  Friday, August 5.

There are tons of great new rock acts out there and these guys are the top of the heap.
