I interviewed Sister Hazel for another publication (on video) and found them to be gracious knowledgeable guys. I also have a soft spot because I went to university in their hometown, Gainesville, Florida.
Well, enough about me. Sister Hazel have just released (June 1) a new digital only EP, Threeve. You can find it at most of the usual suspect download companies. This is in advance of a new full length in October.
Another reason I like Sister Hazel is their attitude to their fans (and in helping out other musicians). This attitude is exemplified by the fifth annual fan weekend, Hazelnut Hang at the Windjammer, Isle of Palms, South Carolina. South Carolina is fun so long as you do not run into any of their politicians. Basically this is a way for the band to interact with fans in a laid back environment. Sister Hazel were also co-founders of the Rock Boat cruise (with Sixthman). This is a rock and roll cruise featuring up and coming bands. They also have visited wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Medical center, performing and visiting.
