There is a concert coming in NYC to benefit Japanese relief efforts. It is currently sold out but keep eyes on the website to see if there might be another one. The theater and the artists are donating everything and 100 percent of the money goes to the Japan Society’s Earthquake Relief Fund.
Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, Mike Patton, Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto, Mephista, Marc Ribot, Uri Caine and Aleph Trio are appearing.
The second is another event with Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Ryuichi Sakamoto; and Bill Laswell and gigi band more. More on this here, japansociety.org/concertforjapan. This concert goes on for 12 hours and is $5 at the door.
