This September (the 16th and 17th of the month to be precise) sees the tenth Ponderosa Stomp in New Orleases. A slew of bands and labels will be represented. These include (but are not limited to); Allen Toussaint, William Bell, Big Jay McNeely, Eddie Floyd, Lady Bo, Sir Mack Rice, Lazy Lester, Dave Bartholomew, The Bo-Keys and more. Performers will pay tribute to Excello Records, Stax Records and New Orleans producer, Cosimo Matassa.
The fest takes place at the Renaissance Arts Hotel and tickets go on sale June 10th at www.ponderosastomp.com . Early bird tickes cost $40 each.
